To my fellow Wolverines, I would like to thank you for taking the time to learn about BOND. On behalf of the entire organization, we are excited and honored by your interest in joining our group. The first few weeks of every semester is always a uniquely exciting time. It provides us with the opportunity to meet many of the incredible students that the university has to offer, hear their aspirations, and welcome them to the BOND family.
I joined BOND during my first semester of freshman year, and thus I have not known college without it. As an out-of-state student not knowing anybody, gaining this instant community of some of my closest friends and mentors was more than I could have asked for. More than five semesters later, this is still something for which I am sincerely thankful.
The best way to describe the dynamic of a BOND project is that it differs from a typical group project in two important ways. The first is that every person on your team is someone you can count as a good friend that is equally passionate and motivated to be working alongside you. The second difference is that the work you are doing is not for a rubric; you are working to make real impact on a business owner’s toughest problems, and every member of the team viscerally feels this sense of purpose. It is what makes every semester’s experience in BOND as rewarding as it is enjoyable.
We strongly believe that welcoming new members like yourselves into our community is the only way BOND can continue to be successful; it is for this reason that we treat our recruiting process with the utmost sincerity. Please do not hesitate to reach out to any members of the club if you have questions or concerns - they will be eager to tell you their own BOND story. Thank you all again, and I look forward to meeting you very soon.
All my best,
BOND President, 2019
